Co-producer
Douglas Gresham was interviewed and revealed pretty interesting
information about the filming process. He said that he was in Prague to
look at one of the most fabulous sets ever built, Miraz’s
Castle, which is what they are filming right now. He told us that the
footage they have so far looks spectacularly good, even richer and
somehow stronger than LWW. He also said that the increased
maturity of the children and their acting
skills were remarkable. This is going to be one
seriously great movie.

Slovenia's
24ur has posted a video about
Prince
Caspian in Slovenia. This year’s largest Disney
film project,
Prince
Caspian means the biggest publicity ever for Bovec.
Millions of filmgoers will see the region’s Soca river and a
fairytale bridge. The first crew members are coming to Bovec in May
2007.
The greatest attraction will probably be the wooden bridge, which will
be made by the Primorje factory in Ajdovscina. It will be 60 metres
long and 7 metres wide. This is the sort of bridge that was in fact
designed by Caesar, which means that it will be an example of a truly
old bridge, made from pine wood. The cavalry will cross the
bridge, which will collapse. Then the soldiers will be taken to another
land. You can see the whole article (video translation)

Associate
Producer David Minkowski was interviewed by the Czech Film Commission
on the
Prince Caspian
shoot taking place in Prague. " It is a big load and, at the same time,
a challenge. In a relatively small town like Prague it's really very
hard to find enough good people and equipment for two Hollywood films
at the same time" said David Minkowski. You can read this really
interesting interview at the

Director
Michael Apted has been given the task of directing Walden Media and
Disney's third Chronicles of Narnia film,
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Hopefully, his enthusiasm and attention to detail will give us
something remarkable ! The official credited cast members are Skandar,
Georgie, William, Anna and Ben. The script of this movie is actually in
pre-production and it will probably be released in 2009. For more

The
shooting of Prince
Caspian in the New Zealand is now complete, and the
production is currently filming in the Czech Republic. Up at Barrandov,
Prince Caspian began shooting Sunday, April 1st at the Prague Studios.
Director Andrew Adamson chose the confluence of the river Soca and its
tributary Gljun in northeastern Slovenia for the setting of the final
scenes of the film. The parts filmed in the Bovec region will feature
scenes of 300 soldiers running over a bridge and its spectacular
destruction. The shooting on the emerald river is to take place in the
first part of June. The crew that is to prepare the setting is to
arrive in Slovenia already in April. Its members will build a wooden
beam bridge, resembling the bridges built by Julius Caesar and his
legionaries during the Gallic War.
Shooting end is envisaged for August. Post-production will then begin
in England.

One of
the visual effects companies working on Prince Caspian, the UK-based
Framestore CFC, has posted a brief update on their work on the film.
The next Narnia film is now well under way, and Framestore CFC has got
a lion’s share of the VFX work. As well as the CG creatures,
Aslan and a badger called Trufflehunter, the 500 or so shots this team
expects to complete will also involve a spectacular River God sequence.

Disney
recently previewed some of their upcoming movies at ShoWest in Las
Vegas. They showed an impressive production reel for The Chronicles of
Narnia: Prince Caspian including concept art for the sequel’s
new characters and soundbites from director Andrew Adamson and make-up
FX supervisor Howard Berger, talking about the differences with the
sequel and how they will get a chance to show how the different
creatures fight, and there was accompanying battle pre-vis to
demonstrate what they meant. IESB.net also said that The Chronicles of
Narnia: Prince Caspian is going to be bigger than the first.

Some
news about the production set were given. A large base camp supporting
200 cast and crew from the Narnia movies has been set up in an old
quarry near Lake Moeraki, in South Westland. The film crew arrived at
the weekend in a fleet of 40 trucks. Essential staff are helicoptered
in to the set at the mouth of the Moeraki River. Numbers are capped at
60 people. As the film employs four children, two of them minors, they
can only work certain hours. However, filming should still be wrapped
up in about three days. In a few weeks’ time, everyone will
move next to the Czech Republic. There was a food tent big enough to
seat for 200, although some food was being flown in to the set. A truck
carried portable toilets and there was even hot water on tap.

At a
press conference in Auckland, director Andrew Adamson confirmed that
filming on Prince Caspian will soon begin at undisclosed locations
around New Zealand. He also said that he will not be directing the
third Narnia film. He talked about how much the childern have grown
over the years: "They’re growing surprisingly fast. We just
saw Georgie and Skandar yesterday and Skandar’s grown
probably about a foot since the last film", Andrew said. He explained
that Prince Caspian will probably be a little darker than LWW, partly
because the children are older, but partly because it’s a
different story. Click
